Note: Project to save monuments associated with the construction of the Aswan High Dam. The dam was intended to create a huge artificial lake covering the Upper Nile Valley from Aswan in Egypt to the Dal Cataract in Sudan. Many of the ancient monuments in the area were moved to prevent their destruction.
