Star House (historic homes; Quanah Parker (Comanche leader, c. 1845-1911); ca. 1890; Cache (Comanche, Oklahoma, United States, North and Central ...)
Note: Homestead built and belonging to Quanah Parker (c. 1845-1911), a Comanche military and cultural leader. After the Red River War (1874-1875), Parker led several Comanche communities to settle on reservation lands in Oklahoma. Parker built a 22-room home and farming complex as an example to other Comanche on how combine Euro-American and Comanche lifeways. The house gets its name due to the large amount of white stars painted on the roof. It was moved in 1958 as some of the land was purchased to expand nearby Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
