Note: Self-portrait by Rembrandt painted in his later life when he was impoverished and alone. He is depicted in his studio, in his working clothes of a fur-trimmed gown (known as a tabard) and white linen cap. He holds a palette, brushes and mahlstick (a support for his painting hand) - the attributes of his profession.
