Note: Painted during Van Dyck's English period; paid for by the king in 1638. The king is portrayed as aristocratic, elegant, and rather than specifically royal appearance; there are no monarchic insignia. Pictorial harmony exists between human figures (the king and equerries), animals (the horse), and landscape background.
