Note: In 1635 Rubens bought a manor house near Malines outside Antwerp; the manor house was called "Het Steen" (Stone Castle; now called Elewijt Castle). His painting of the manor and surrounding autumnal landscape, set in sharp wintry light and autumn-flowering plants.
