Note: Ceremonial mask probably worn by a Taino shaman for religious ceremonies. This mask is made from a curved piece of bone from a sea turtle (Chelonia imbricata). It has two holes on each end through which a cord was inserted and used to tie the mask to the face. The mask only covers the eyes and a portion of the upper nose area.
