| Untitled (installation (visual work); Urs Fischer (Swiss installation artist, born 1973, active in...; 2011) | |
| Note: Consists of three wax “life-size” sculptural reproductions: Giabologna’s colossal sculpture Rape of the Sabines, Fischer's friend Rudolf Stingel, and an office chair from the artist’s studio. Each sculpture is lit and gradually melts into a formless mass as it burns throughout the duration of the installation. Fischer created a 1:1 polyurethane foam model of Giambologna’s sculpture using an optical scanner, which he further worked on in his New York studio. A negative was then produced at the art foundry Kunstgiesserei St. Gallen, which was filled with colored wax and a wick system. | |
