Note: Against a dark background, a ceramic bowl, white and worn, rests on a plain wood table. The bowl is filled to overflowing with bright, yellow citrons. Their rough texture and rounded weightiness contrasts with the lacy pattern of sharp-edged branches, glistening, green leaves and delicate, star-like blossoms. All these, and the smooth, pale green fruits that hang from a fragile branch, are gifts of the citron tree.
