Note: Inscribed on a stone in the lower left corner: MARTINVS / ROTA SE / BENICEN / SIS. F. / 1569; Dedicated to Duke Emmanuel Philibert of Savoy, the print reproduces Michelangelo's Last Judgment, as it appeared before its restoration by Daniele da Volterra, who had been commissioned to overpaint the nude figures' genitalia; A portrait of Michelangelo himself has been included, replacing the seated figure of Jonas painted in the Sistine chapel above the Last Judgment.
