Note: Engraved mark: B.I; Thieme-Becker identified Michele Mazza as Angelo Michele Mazza, who was a painter, sculptor, architect and engraver from Parma. In 1716, Angelo Michele Mazza was active in Bologna as a theater painter; Figures are gathered in the center of the square in an enclosed garden where fowls hang from Cuccagna trees. Two bulls, just let loose, are chased by men on foot holding lances and accompanied by dogs; The print displays the insignia of the Gonfaloniere and eight Anziani as well as the ephemeral architecture and "macchine" erected on the occasion of the festival. Beyond the square enclosed by galleries and arches, a concave palace is adorned with spiral columns, arcades and balconies overlooking the square; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
