Note: Sisto Badalocchio and Giovanni Lanfranco etched a suite of prints after the frescoes executed by Raphael's workshop in the Vatican Logge. The suite was published as a bound volume by Giovanni Orlando in Rome in 1607 under the title Historia del Testamento Vecchio ..., and issued again in 1614 and 1638; Eight prints from the suite entitled Historia del Testamento Vecchio; Contents: Melchisedek offering bread and wine to Abraham --; Joshua commanding the sun and moon to stand still --; David slaying Goliath --; Triumph of David --; David, from the balcony of his palace, sees Bathsheba bathing --; Solomon anointed king of Israel by Zadok --; Judgment of Solomon --; Building of Solomon's temple in Jerusalem; Forms part of the Leo Steinberg collection of prints (Special Collections accn. no. 2000.PR.16); Library has another impression of the etchings bound with: Historia del Testamento Vecchio ...
