Note: The commission was assigned to the Portuguese architect Emanuel Rodriguez dos Santos, also named Manuel Rodrigues dos Santos, by the Portuguese José Maria Fonseca e Evora, who was Commissary General of the Franciscan Order; Printmaker from the Veneto, who was active in Rome; The print depicts the decorations in the Franciscan church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli in Rome that were designed for the octave of the canonization of Margherita da Cortona, celebrated by Pope Benedict XIII on September 9, 1728; A view of the nave toward the apse is shown. A multitude of figures, derived from a drawing by Antonio Bicchierai, point and look at the ornaments adorning the arches and clerestories; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no. P910002**).
