Note: The Italian printmaker Giuseppe Filosi, who was active in Venice in the 18th century, primarily specialized in book illustrations. His earliest documented work dates from 1730; Italian etcher active in the first half of the 18th century; The print depicts the water procession to churches in Venice in which the doge customarily took part on barges called peatoni; In the lower margin, captions A to K identify the members of the procession, including oboe and trumpet players; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
