Note: The engraving, hand-colored in bright orange, red, green, and blue, depicts a session of the council that opened in Trento on 13 December 1545, and closed there on 4 December 1563; The view shows the nave of a church in which the assembly is convened. The first two pillars in the nave are adorned with two portrait medallions of Holy Roman Emperors; Charles V is portrayed on the right. Charles V's motto "Plus Ultra" also appears on the pillars, along with two coats of arms; Pencilled on verso: TRENTO 1664; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
