Note: The passing away of Pope Clement X on July 22, 1676, was described in: Relatione della malatia, e morte del Sommo Pontefice Clemente X di gloriosa e felice memoria .... (Rome, 1676). The catafalque was designed by the architect Giovanni Antonio de Rossi who received several commissions from the Altieri family of Pope Clement X, including the design of Palazzo Altieri in Piazza del Gesù in Rome; Draftsman and etcher from Valduggia, Novara, who was active in Rome; The print depicts the catafalque for the obsequies of Pope Clement X, held in the Basilica of St. Peter's in 1676; Binding holes along the left margin; Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
