| Note: After a design by Abraham Bloemaert; The printmaker and publisher Boëce van Bolswert, also named Boëtius Adamsz. Bolswart or Boëtius à Bolswert, worked in Haarlem, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Brussels, from 1620 remained in Antwerp. He studied with Abraham Bloemaert; A poem in eight verses, signed "A. Eufrenius", is inscribed in the lower margin: Nuncius exhilarat te, Virgo, atq[ue] Elisabetha, / Dum paris Infantem, dumq[ue] Offers, et Reperisti. / ..; "ABloemaert Inuentor"--inscribed at lower left; "BA. Bolsuerd: sculp. et excu:"--inscribed at lower right; Also known as: The Virgin and Child in a rose garland; Forms part of the Leo Steinberg collection of prints (Special Collections accn. no. 2000.PR.16); Accompanied by Leo Steinberg's handwritten notes concerning sales and translation of poem.
