(In Modana : Per Giulian Cassiani Stampator Ducale, 1652); The print depicts the carousel or tournament Gara delle stagioni performed in Modena on April 10, 1652, in honor of the visit of Anna de' Medici, Ferdinand Karl of Austria and Sigmund Franz of Austria; It shows a cross section of the temporary theater designed by the architect Bartolomeo Luigi Avanzini, adorned with the armorial shields of the House of Austria and lit with burning urns. A horse-drawn chariot in the center of the stage is escorted by torch-bearers; Trimmed within plate mark and with loss of lower margin where the etcher's signature appears in other impressions (cf. de Vesme); Forms part of the Collection of festival prints, 1530-1887 (Special Collections accn. no.
