Mignard."; Two lines of Latin text signed Jean Baptiste de Santeüil engraved below the image: "Christi cruentae Principum non certet unquam Purpura Purpurae, Junco palustri Sceptra cedant, textilibus Diadema Spinis. Santolius Victorinus."; French draftsman and engraver active in Paris and his native Troyes; A reproductive print by Nicolas Bazin after the painting "Ecce homo" from 1690 by Pierre Mignard at the Musée des beaux-arts in Rouen; The print reproduces only the figure of Christ with a crown of thorns, without the three Roman soldiers present in Mignard's painting (cf. Mérot); Mounted, trimmed close to plate mark. Mount has markings in pencil: "166" in the lower margin, "59" in the upper margin, and "50" in ink in the lower right corner. Publication: 1690.
