Note: Suite of reception rooms, the public part of the papal apartments. Pope Julius II commissioned Raphael and his studio to paint the existing interiors of the rooms in 1508/1509. The paintings were commissioned by Pope Julius II; after his death in 1513, Pope Leo X continued the program. Following Raphael's death in 1520, his assistants Gianfrancesco Penni, Giulio Romano and Raffaellino del Colle finished the project.
