German ..... Diese Figur einer Palhikwmana ("Flüssigkeit trinkendes Mädchen" oder auch "Mais mahlendes Mädchen") ist eine der schönsten Kachinas der Berliner Sammlung. Der aufwendig gestaltete und bemalte Kopfaufsatz wird von Wolkenterrassen gekrönt. Die Bekleidung aus Stoff und Wollfäden entspricht dem Zeremonialgewand von Palhikwmana. Die Figur zu den Kachinas der älteren Hopisammlung, die 1991 aus Leipzig zurückkehrten. Trotz aufwendiger Restaurierung hat das russische Exil bleibende Spuren hinterlassen: Die Bemalung am Kinn und an der Stirn ist abgeschabt, ein Teil des linken Fußes und der gelben Blüte rechts am Kopfaufsatz sind abgebrochen, die ursprünglich am Kopfaufsatz befestigten Federn sind nicht mehr vorhanden. |
