Sumptuous decorative arts are a highlight of the collections at both the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center and the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. Now, in a unique crosstown collaboration, the two collections have come together.
See 17 of the Huntington's most opulent objects—vases, tables, chairs, tapestries, and sculptures—in the decorative arts galleries at the Getty Center. The installation also reunites François Boucher's monumental tapestry The Fountain of Love with its preparatory oil sketch for the first time since the 1750s.
Delve into Huntington's dealings and influence in a lecture by Huntington curator Shelley Bennett on Sunday, June 11.

Hybrid creatures, avenging angels, and masked mobs populate the feverishly inventive etchings of 19th-century Belgian artist James Ensor. See 33 of Ensor's prints alongside his monumental painting Christ's Entry into Brussels in 1889 from the Museum's collection in this focused new exhibition, which reveals how Ensor used intense line and color to capture the jarring beauty of a decaying, turbulent world.
Hear more about Ensor's artistic wizardry in a lecture by exhibition curator Louis Marchesano on Thursday, June 29.

Movement and the Visual Arts (Conference and Site-Wide Performances)
June 2, 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

The L.A. Art Girls bring the conference outdoors and out-of-bounds with Fluxus-inspired artistic interventions across the Getty Center site throughout the day. Free; reservations required for the conference.
