McDonald, James (English photographer and surveyor, 1822-1885)
|
Note: In 1864, McDonald was assigned to Charles William Wilson as a surveyor and photographer to conduct a survey of Palestine for the Royal Engineers. The large-scale photographic project was published by the Ordnance Survey in 1865 in "Ordnance Survey of Jerusalem". From 1868 to 1869, McDonald worked under Wilson to produce photographs for "Ordnance Survey of Sinai" in Egypt. In 1869, McDonald became manager of the Photographic Office of the Royal Engineers' Establishment, England. |
