Bachert, Hildegard (American art dealer, 1921-2019, born in Germany)
|
Note: Bachert began working at Galerie St. Etienne in Manhattan while still a teenager, and remained there virtually until her death. She became co-director after the founder Otto Kallir’s death in 1978. She promoted the works of Schiele, Klimt, and Grandma Moses. The gallery organized the first American shows by Klimt and Schiele. |
