Hathaway, Horatio (American industrialist, politician, and philanthropist, 1831-1899)
|
Note: American industrialist, politican, and philanthropist; he was born in New Bedford, and graduated from Harvard University in 1850. Hathaway founded the Hathaway Manufacturing Co. in 1888 as a cotton mill. He was also affiliated with his family's tea importing business, which he inherited after the death of his father and uncles. In 1859, he married Ellen Rodman.
