Record Type: Person
Kim Changeop (Korean painter and calligrapher, 1658-1721)

Note: Kim Changeop was a calligrapher, painter, and poet from the late Joseon period. He was the fourth son of Kim Suhang (1629-1689), a politician and Confucian scholar active in the seventeenth century. He was well-versed in poetry and painting from a young age. His tastes in painting were passed down to Kim Yungyeom (1711-1775), his son by a concubine, and exerted considerable influence upon "true-view" landscape painting (jingyeong sansuhwa) in the late Joseon period.
