Note: Known for mixing modernism with indigenous elements and ancient motifs in his work of the 1950s and 1960s in Cambodia. He oversaw the modernization of Phnom Penh, but lived in exile during the years of the Khmer Rouge regime, and returned to Cambodia in 1991. |
