Asai Chū (Japanese painter, 1856-1907)
|
Note: Japanese painter in the western (yōga) style studied with Fontanesi at the Kōbu Art School, entering the year it was opened, 1876. Founder of the Meiji Art Society, 1889. In 1898 he became professor at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He travelled to Europe 1900-1902. |
