Tanavoli, Parviz (Iranian sculptor and painter, born 1937, active in Vancouver, Canada)
|
Note: Tanavoli studied at the College of Fine Arts at Tehrān University (1956), the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara (1956-1957) and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan (1958-1959). He later taught at the Minneapolis College of Arts and Design and the College of Fine Arts in Tehrān. The sculptor works in a variety of media including bronze, copper, brass, scrap metal, and clay. Elements of the Saqqakhana movement can be identified in his works. He has written a series of books and articles about rugs and textiles. |
