Stanton, Edward (English sculptor, 1681-1734)
|
Note: Edward worked in the style of his father; more than 150 monuments by Stanton are recorded. Among his larger works are the monuments to Sir William Lytton, Sir George Strode, Sir Francis Russell, and Sir Thomas Vernon. He was admitted to the Masons' Company in 1702 and eventually went into partnership with Christopher Horsnaile. He was Mason to the City of London from 1708, and Mason to Westminster Abbey from 1720. He became Master of the Masons' Company in 1719. |
