Note: The 11th Duke of Savoy, Carlo Emanuele I was a generous patron of fine art and had a keen interest in antiquarianism. His most notable commissions were to Palma Giovane and to the workshop of Paolo Veronese for depictions of Old Testament episodes, both used for wall-decorations. |
