Cubr, František (Czech architect, 1911-1976)
|
Note: Czech architect, teacher, and interior designer studied at the Czech Technical University in Prague 1928-1934. He was an active member of the Architects' Club, Union of Czech Architects, Block of Progressive Architectural Groups, and the Stavoprojekt socialist design group. He is noted for his large-scale exhibition projects, particularly the Czechoslovak Pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels, which he designed with Josef Hrubý and Zdenek Pokorný. Other projects include the Strahov student campus, 1960-1965, and the International Telephone and Telegraph Exchange, 1966-1978. In 1967 he became head of the School of Architecture at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. |
