Hime, Humphrey Lloyd (Canadian photographer, 1833-1903)
|
Note: Born 17 September 1833; died 31 October 1903. Hime emigrated to Canada in 1854. He joined the Toronto firm Armstrong & Beere, was made a partner in 1857 and the firm of photographers, engineers and draughtsmen changed its name to Armstrong, Beere & Hime. Beere left the firm in 1863 for New Zealand and Hime left probably in 1864, to pursue a career in business. In 1858, Hime joined the Assiniboine and Saskatchewan Exploring Expedition led by Henry Youle Hind to survey the area bounded by Lake Winnipeg and the Assiniboine and Saskatchewan Rivers. In 1864, he started the firm H.L. Hime & Company, stockbrokers, real estate and insurance agents. |
