Gmünd, Johann von (German architect and master builder, active mid-14th century)
|
Note: Although he was a member of the Parler family, and most likely an elder brother of Peter Parler, Johann used the name 'von Gmünd'. In 1356 he was in charge of rebuilding the Basle Minster after a major earthquake. In 1359, von Parler became master of the works of the Cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. In 1363 he repaired the tower, choir and vaults of the cathedral. |
