Note: Burke worked in the Punjab (India) from the late 1860s to 1907, specializing in photographs of military groups and operations. In the late 1860s Burke made a record of the archaeological sites of Kashmir (India), for the Superintendent of the Archaeological Survey, North Western Provinces, Lt. H.H. Cole. 19th C. Photo indicates that Burke was active in Afghanistan and Kashmir (India) and that his photographs are dated 1868-1879. |
