Hoyningen-Huene, George (Russian photographer, 1900-1968, active in France and the United States)

Note: In 1925, Hoyningen-Huene began working for Vogue Magazine in Paris and soon afterwards became their chief fashion photographer. In 1927, he began making amateur films and in 1935, emigrated to the United States. Until 1945, he worked as a staff fashion photographer for Harper's Bazaar Magazine in New York City. In 1946, Hoyningen-Huene moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began teaching photography at the Art Center School, Los Angeles. From 1946 to 1968, he worked as a color consultant for films in Hollywood.
