Note: Born 28 August 1814; died 31 December 1888. Biewend, a scientist and metallurgist, was "Master of the Mint" for the Bank of Hamburg from 1843 to 1876. Biewend was an amateur daguerreotypist who learned the process of photography around 1846. |
