Note: Fort Conde was initially built in 1723 by French colonial forces, with its location being contemporaneous with downtown Mobile, Alabama. Its name derives from Louis Henri de Bourbon, Duke of Bourbon and Prince of Condé. After being used by the English and the Spanish, the fort was demolished by the U.S. in the early 1820s.
