Note: Site of the debated human and animal footprints found in the Valsequillo Basin, formed on the upper bedding plane surfaces of a volcanic ash deposit. One study suggested the footprints are from 38,000 years ago, which is earlier than most other evidence of human habitation of the Americas. However, other research places the rocks at 1.3 million years old, meaning the site is too early to be human.
