Note: The princess cut is a combination of a brilliant-cut variation with a square or, less often, rectangular outline. The design evolved to increase the brilliance of square and rectangular gem cuts by increasing the number of facets on the crown and pavilion. There is no standardized arrangement although the majority have 76 facets.

| Dutch ..... Het prinsesslijpsel is een combinatie van een briljant geslepen variant met een vierkante of, minder vaak, rechthoekige omtrek. Het ontwerp is geëvolueerd om de schittering van vierkante en rechthoekige sneden te vergroten door het aantal facetten op de kroon en het paviljoen te vergroten. Er is geen gestandaardiseerde indeling, hoewel de meeste 76 facetten hebben. |
