Note: The pear cut is a combination of a round cut and the marquise cut for gems. The combination of these two cuts is therefore called pear or pearldrop. The pear cut should be cut symmetrically. The rounded corners must be equal to each other and must not have straight facets. With the tip of the pear cut set in a ring pointing towards the nails, the fingers appear longer and narrower, and as a result these shapes are often used on engagement rings.

| Dutch ..... De peer geslepen diamant is een combinatie van een rond geslepen diamant en de markies geslepen diamant. De combinatie van deze twee slijpvormen wordt dus peer of pearldrop genoemd. De peer geslepen diamant dient goed symmetrisch geslepen te worden. De ronde hoeken moeten gelijk zijn aan elkaar en mogen geen rechte facetten bezitten. Als de punt van de peer geslepen diamant naar uw nagels wijst, worden uw vingers optisch langer en smaller. Dit komt ook voor bij de ovale en de markies geslepen diamanten. Om die reden worden deze vormen vaak gebruikt bij verlovingsringen. |
