Note: Coachmen in colonial Latin America, usually depicted stereotypically as black men, usually slaves, who drove calesas, or carriages. Their extravagant uniforms and ornamentation were indications of their owners' wealth. In Cuba, caleseros are distinctive characters of the colonial period and are usually portrayed in images as garishly dressed dandies.

Spanish ..... Personas que tienen por oficio remunerado la conducción de las calesas. Los caleseros fueron un personajes muy característicos durante el periodo colonial, y fue ejercido en general por hombres de piel negra. Muchos venidos de Cuba o traídos en tiempos de esclavitud.
