Dutch ..... Kleine, ronde metalen plaatjes die werden vastgemaakt aan verschillende delen van het harnas als decoratie of, wat meer gebruikelijk was, als extra bescherming voor het dichtmaken van gaten tussen de scharnierpunten, om zwakke plekken te verstevigen, of om riempjes die de harnasdelen verbinden te beschermen. Soms werden ze ook bevestigd aan de handvaten van wapens, zoals dolken en strijdbijlen, om dienst te doen als handschilden. |
