Note: Two-storied main gates of a Zen temple complexes; literally "enlightenment gate," "mountain gate," or "triple gate." The size of the gate could be equated with the status of the temple. Dutch ..... Hoofdpoort van zenboeddhistische tempels, bestaande uit twee verdiepingen. Letterlijk betekent de term ���verlichtingspoort', ���bergpoort' of ���drievoudige poort'. De afmetingen van de poort weerspiegelen de status van de tempel. De poorten kunnen drie doorgangen bevatten. Ze worden gezien als de symbolische scheiding tussen het wereldlijke en het heilige. |
