Dutch ..... Volgens de botanische definitie een vrucht met een structuur (kern) waarin de zaden duidelijk zijn gescheiden van het vruchtbeginsel. Een vrucht die kenmerkend is voor de pitvrucht is de appel. Kleine vruchten die doorgaans 'bessen' worden genoemd zijn eigenlijk pitvruchten, zoals haagbessen en de vruchten van het krentenboompje. |
