tanakhs (religious texts, <documents by function>, ... Visual and Verbal Communication (hierarchy name)) |
|
Note: Objects containing sacred Jewish scriptures. The term Tanakh is an acronym based on the primary letters of the work's three major components: the Torah or Pentateuch, the Nevi'im (meaning Prophets), and the Ketuvim (meaning Writings). The Tanakh is also the source for the Old Testament, a component of the Christian Bible. Has been reproduced in the format of oral histories, scrolls, codices, and books. Some codices and scrolls, from the 11th century CE and earlier, are illuminated with scrollwork, geometric designs, and micrography. |
