Note: White and/or gray patch, sheet or layered clouds, generally composed of laminae (plates), rounded masses or rolls. They may be partly fibrous or diffuse. When the edge or a thin semitransparent patch of altocumulus passes in front of the sun or moon a corona appears. This colored ring has red on the outside and blue inside and occurs within a few degrees of the sun or moon.

| Dutch ..... Witte en/of grijze plukkerige, vlakke of gelaagde wolken, doorgaans bestaand uit laminae (platen), ronde massa's of rollen. Ze kunnen deels vezelig of diffuus zijn. Wanneer de rand of een dunne, halfdoorzichtige pluk altocumulus voor de zon of maan schuift, verschijnt er een corona. Deze gekleurde ring is aan de buitenkant rood en aan de binnenkant blauw, en is zichtbaar binnen een paar graden van de zon of maan. |
