Note: Regarded as the central text of the Hindu religion, the Bhagavad-gītā, written ca. 200 BCE, is comprised of eighteen sections and a total of 700 verses which form part of the epic poem known as the Mahābhārata. The verses describe a dialogue between the warrior Arjuna and Lord Krishna, on the eve of a battle between Arjuna and members of his family. It is thought that the text was written at a time when Bhramanical religion had been splintered, with Buddhism and Jainism separated. The Bhagavad-gītā teaches that there may be many ways to salvation, and can be interpreted as an endorsement of reconciliation.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 薄伽梵歌被視為印度教的要典，成書時間為公元200年，主要由18個章節組成，共700節詩，且由此發展出部份的摩訶婆羅多史詩。詩節主要是描述阿修羅與其家庭成員展開戰爭的前夕，其與克裡希那王之間所發生的對話。有者認為薄伽梵歌的詩節寫於婆羅門教分裂之時，即佛教及耆那教的源起。薄伽梵歌的教導主張通往救贖的途徑有許多種，也可詮釋為主張內在的和諧。 |
| Dutch ..... De Bhagavad-gītā, die wordt beschouwd als de kerntekst van het hindoegeloof, werd circa 200 v. Chr. geschreven en bestaat uit 18 gedeelten en in totaal 700 verzen die deel uitmaken van het heldendicht de Mahābhārata. De verzen beschrijven een dialoog tussen de krijger Arjuna en Heer Krishna, aan de vooravond van de strijd tussen Arjuna en leden van zijn familie. De tekst zou zijn geschreven in een periode dat het brahmaanse geloof versplinterd was geraakt en het boeddhisme en jaïnisme zich hadden afgesplitst. De Bhagavad-gītā leert dat er diverse wegen zijn die naar de verlossing leiden, en het werk kan als een pleidooi voor verzoening worden beschouwd. |
