Note: A Postclassic Nahua garment design, literally of "eyes on the edge." It was composed with white circles on a black background in a band at the hem. As a prestigious design added to capes, it was typically worn by tlahtohqueh (rulers) and pipiltin (high ranking noble men), and occasionally appeared on women's clothing. The design may also be correlated with the deity Tezcatlipoca. |

Spanish ..... Diseño de prenda nahua usado en el posclásico, literalmente de "ojos en el borde". Era compuesto por círculos blancos sobre fondo negro en una banda del dobladillo. Como un prestigioso diseño añadido a las mantas, era típicamente usado por los tlahtohqueh (gobernantes) y los pipiltin (hombres nobles de alto rango), y aparecía ocasionalmente en la ropa de las mujeres. El diseño también puede estar relacionado con la deidad Tezcatlipoca. |
