Note: Refers to Zoroastrian priests of the lower degree. Ervads have undertaken navar, the first of the two initiation rites for priests. In the more important ceremonies, ervads act only as assistant priests. The correlating historical term, 'ehrpats,' originally referred to religious teachers who were entrusted with the care of the fire. |

Dutch ..... Verwijst naar Zoroastrische priesters met lage rang. Ervads hebben de navar ondergaan, de eerste van de twee inwijdingsrites voor priesters. Bij belangrijke ceremonieën fungeren ervads slechts als hulppriester. De verwante historische term 'ehrpats' verwees oorspronkelijk naar geloofsleraren aan wie de zorg voor het vuur was toevertrouwd. |
Spanish ..... Se refiere a sacerdotes zoroástricos de rango menor. Los herbad están a cargo del navar, el primero de los tres ritos de iniciación para sacerdotes. En términos históricos correlativos, herbad originalmente se refería a profesores religiosos quienes estaban encomendados del cuidado del fuego. |
