Note: Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age cultures that lived in the fourth millennium BCE. The name is derived from the inverted-cloche form of the characteristic vessel. Bell Beaker vessels occur in a variety of styles with specific regional distributions and chronological limits. The beakers are typically decorated in bands of incised and corded decoration and frequently occur in graves associated with wristguards of polished and perforated stone and V-perforated buttons. While earlier generations of archaeologists attributed the beakers to a particular "Beaker folk" who originated in Spain and spread to central and western Europe carrying bronze technology to the British Isles, scholars now tend to think that the beakers were prestige items whose popularity spread over time among existing peoples as symbols of social rank.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de cultuur en aardewerkstijl van de ‘bekermensen’ uit het late neolithicum en de vroege Bronstijd, die leefden in het 4de millennium v. Chr. en zijn vernoemd naar de typische klokvormige bekers die met horizontale banden versierd waren met behulp van fijn getande stempels. De cultuur is waarschijnlijk oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Spanje en heeft zich verspreid over Centraal- en West-Europa, daarbij de techniek van het werken met brons naar de Britse eilanden brengend. De cultuur wordt gekenmerkt door aardewerk, een voorkeur voor individuele graven, snelle expansie op zoek naar koper en goud, het ontstaan van talrijke wapens, waaronder bogen, koperen speerpunten, platte, getande dolken en opvallende gebogen, rechthoekige polsbeschermers. |

Se refiere la cultura y estilo de cerámica del Neolítico Tardío y la Edad de Bronce Temprana "pueblo Vaso con Pico," que vivieron en el cuarto milenio a.C. y que son conocidos por sus vasos con pico en forma de campana decorados en zonas horizontales con cuñas finamente dentadas. La cultura probablemente apareció en España y se extendió a Europa central y occidental llevando la tecnología del bronce a las Islas británicas. Se caracteriza por su cerámica, una preferencia por unidades de tumbas individuales, la expansión rápida en busca de cobre y oro, la creación de numerosas armas, incluyendo arcos, puntas de lanza de cobre planas, dagas, y los características brazaletes rectangulares curvados. |
